Bjorn Fastabend


Björn has more than 13 years of experience as a software developer. For five years he has been involved with XBRL, initially as a developer and for the past three years as project manager.

Currently, he is managing various projects which involve XBRL. Due to the increase of importance of XBRL at BaFin, he is in the process of setting up an XBRL-competency center to streamline the efforts of XBRL-processing.

Additionally, he is managing a project on text mining, since automated processing of text is also gaining importance at BaFin.
He recently organized a workshop with multiple european national competency agencies and national central banks, who are also interested in acquiring automated methods to process large quantities of narrative data.
