Mr. Yamadera, who is a national of Japan, has been in the current position since October 2014. He leads ASEAN+3 Bond Market Forum (ABMF) and Cross-border Settlement Infrastructure Forum (CSIF) as the secretariat under the Asian Bond Markets Initiative (ABMI) of ASEAN+3. In addition, he manages a project to support ASEAN financial integration, and supports capacity building of ASEAN central banks. He also worked for ADB as Economist of Office of Regional Economic Integration from August 2008 to September 2011.

He has over 25 years of professional experiences in central banking including research, banking supervision, payment systems, and international financial cooperation at the Bank of Japan. Prior to re-joining ADB in October 2014, he was Director, Head of International Standardization Group of Bank of Japan. He served as the Secretariat of ISO TC68 National Mirror Committee of Japan to support various financial services standardization. He was also the Chair of Committee on Evaluation and Standards (CES) for Legal Entity Identifier (LEI), which involved more than 60 regulators and central banks globally to formulate guidelines and principles to establish the Global LEI System in accordance with the G20 and FSB initiative.

He obtained his BA in Law, Keio University, Japan (2005); M.Sc in Public Administration and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, United Kingdom (1994); and M.Sc in Systems Management from Tsukuba University, Japan (2005).
